Durante los Test de pretemporada del año pasado sufrí un fortísimo accidente y me perdí las tres primeras carreras, por lo que este año, el GP de Qatar era completamente nuevo para mí. En este último final de pretemporada me he notado mucho más a gusto con esta moto y se refleja en los tiempos que estamos logrando en los test. Así que nos fuimos a Qatar con la motivación por las nubes y con ganas de empezar. I had a very bad accident during one of the last year’s preseason test and I missed the first three races, so this year, the Qatar GP was completely new to me. In the last preseason final I felt much more comfortable with my current bike and it is reflected in the times I am achieving in the tests. So we went to Qatar eager to start and with our motivation through the roof.
En la primera toma de contacto en la FP1 compruebo que es un circuito intuitivo, pero eso hará que estemos más apretados aún en la tabla de tiempos. En el segundo crono intento buscar mis propias referencias y compararlas con algunos pilotos, mejoramos algo los tiempos en esta FP 2. Ya en boxes hablando con los Ingenieros vemos en la telemetría que algo raro sucede pero no entendemos el qué.
In the first contact in the FP1, I could see that it is an intuitive circuit, but that would make us even tighter in the timesheet. In the second chrono I try to find my own references and compare them to some riders. We improved the times in this FP somehow. Once in the pits and talking to the engineers, we saw that something strange was happening with regards to the telemetry but we did not understand what it was.
El sábado me encuentro bien, con ganas, me siento cada día más cómodo encima de esta moto y quiero salir a pista a seguir avanzando. En la FP 3 con unas condiciones de pista algo peores, seguimos a algo más de 1s de la cabeza pero los tiempos son peores que ayer. Ya en la Qualy, conseguimos subir un escalón y meternos 15 en parrilla a 1s de la pole. Estamos listos para luchar y mañana lo vamos a dar todo.
On Saturday, I felt good and with eagerness. I feel more comfortable on the bike every day and I want to go on track to continue moving forward.
During the FP3 and with conditions that were somewhat worse than usual on the track, we were a little more than 1 second behind the quickest rider. The times were worse than yesterday, though. Once in the qualification, I got to go one step further and reach the 15th position on the starting grid being 1 second behind the pole position Now we were right to figth.

Los grandísimos mecánicos del equipo comprueban que el motor no está al 100% y deciden avisar a los técnicos encargados delos motores Honda que llevan las Moto2, los cuales son revisados y sorteados cada 3 carreras.
Los técnicos dicen que está todo bien, así que me quedo más tranquilo y concentrado para mañana dar el 120% durante la carrera.
The amazing mechanics of the team noticed that the engine is not at its optimum level and they decided to tell the technicians who are in charge of the Honda engines that are in moto2 bikes, which are checked and drawn every 3 races.
The technicians said everything was ok, so I was less worried and more focused on tomorrow to give it all throughout the race.
Comienza la carrera y me siento genial pilotando la moto pero el motor no resiste y se rompe. Me salgo de la pista y siento rabia e impotencia por saber que aún con un motor mal, estaba en posiciones de puntos. Quiero agradecer a todo mi equipo el durísimo trabajo que han hecho esta carrera y que la mala suerte no nos ha dejado terminar.

The race started and I felt good while riding my bike but the engine did not resist and broke down. I got off the track and felt helpless and anger running all through me for finding out that, even though the engine broke down, I was in a position where I could get points.
I would like to thank each member of my team for the hard work they did for this race even though we were unlucky and could not finish the race.
