GP Río Hondo

Wow!! 

Este Gran Premio ha sido de locura, pensareis lo mismo. Llegamos a Argentina con algunos días de antelación por aclimatarnos al lugar. Desde entonces comenzó mi concentración en el GP.

En la fp1 y fp2, con condiciones de seco, me sentía bien y todo transcurrió con normalidad. No estábamos lejos para ser mi primera vez aquí, y las sensaciones eran que mejoraría en la fp3.

We arrived in Argentina a few days earlier in order for us to get used to this place. Since then, I started to focus on the GP.

In the FP1 and FP2 – in dry conditions – I felt good and it all went as expected. We were not far taking into account it was my first time here, and the feelings were that I would improve in the FP3.

En el tercer entrenamiento, esta vez en condiciones de mojado, seguimos a poco más de medio segundo de la cabeza pero en esta ocasión, somos 5 en la tabla de tiempos. Se dibujaba una sonrisa dentro del casco pero no quería perder la concentración. Nos estaba saliendo las cosas bien pero aún debíamos trabajar duro.

In the 3rd free practice – in wet conditions this time – I was a little more than 0.5 seconds behind the first rider but, on this occasion, there were 5 of us on the timesheet. There was a big smile on my face underneath my helmet but I didn’t want to lose concentration. Things were going well but we still had to work hard.

En el crono salí rápido por si la pista empeoraba, habían unas condiciones de pista mixtas que no estaba para ningún neumático. Y así fue todo el Crono, ni llovía ni se secaba. Y la parte del asfalto nuevo era aun peor. Unas condiciones de pista muy difíciles.

I went out fast and in a good time just in case the track could get worse. The conditions of the track were mixed and not suitable for any slick. That was the timing all the time, neither rain nor dry track, and over the new paved it was even worse. Actually some very difficult track conditions.

Finalizamos P21. Algo peor de lo que esperaba pero pensando que en la carrera mejoraría.

We finished in the 21st position, somewhat worse than I expected but thinking that the race would get better.

Salida sin incidentes, vuelta a vuelta voy adelantando pilotos, cada vez mejor y con más ritmo. Me sentía muy bien encima de la moto y estaba empujando con fuerza. Solo pensaba en adelantar al siguiente. A las pocas vueltas ya íbamos 15 y seguía dando mucho gas.

Start without incident, I keep overtaking riders lap by lap, getting better and better and with a good path. I felt very good on my bike and pushing hard. I was only thinking about overtaking the next one. 15th position after a few laps and I kept giving a lot of gas.

 

Pronto me situé en 11 posición y entonces comenzó la pelea con Bagnaia, Schrötter y Kent. Nos adelantamos muchas veces de la 9 a la 11 posición durante la parte final de la carrera. Casi al final, Schrötter, en un adelantamiento me obliga a salir de pista para no caer, dejándome sin opciones.

Soon I was in the 11th position and then the fight with Bagnaia, Schröter and Kent began. We overtook among ourselves many times, from position 9 to 11 during the last part of the race. When we were close to the end of the race, while overtaking, Schrötter made me get off the track in order not to fall and i had to lower myself a little from my bike having no options.
